THERE IS / THERE ARE
There is / There are, bir şeyin var olup olmadığını belirtmek için kullanılır. Tekil isimerle there is, çoğul isimlerle ise there are kullanılır.
There is
Positive sentence : There is a big tree in the garden. (Bahçede büyük bir ağaç var.)
Negative sentence: There is not a big tree in the garden. (Bahçede büyük bir ağaç yok.)
Question : Is there a big tree in the garden? (Bahçede büyük bir ağaç var mı?)
Not: Tek bir ağaçtan bahsettiğimiz için there is kullandık.
There are
Positive sentence : There are two big trees in the garden. (Bahçede 2 büyük ağaç var.)
Negative sentence : There are not two big trees in the garden. (Bahçede iki büyük ağaç yok.)
